You say you want a revolution…
April 23, 2008
Friends,
… we all want to change the world.
Time will judge us all.
As for me, I am currently in search of promising companies on which to conduct secondary research on behalf of visitors to this site.
As you can see, I’ve recently covered four juniors: Southern Arc Minerals; Animas Resources; Pediment Exploration; and Rare Element Resources. Three of these have involved site visits, with a fourth planned for late this Spring. More companies of interest are coming to my attention every day.
The potential to be overwhelmed is not insignificant, so I’ve developed a fact-based questionnaire for companies on the Venture Exchange. I’ve been conducting surveys professionally for more than 20 years, so with this special project, I’m in my element.
I’ve identified almost 1,000 mineral mining and exploration companies on the Venture and in the next couple of weeks, I’ll be distributing a comprehensive online survey to most, if not all of them.
This survey will have two purposes. First, to build a library of standardized factual information for my readers on potential investment opportunities. Companies will be able to update their submissions when warranted by new developments and discoveries. No opinions attached. Second, to identify a short list of companies for me to study further in aid of producing more in-depth reports. Opinions will surely follow.
This is first-stage research only, so don’t be thinking that your final buy-or-don’t-buy decision will be made solely on the basis of survey results. At the same time, if we can narrow our collective focus, the world will at least appear (maybe it’s only an illusion) more manageable.
Here’s the thing. Understanding from my background that market orientation is important to me, you’ll also understand why I need your feedback to progress through this project in anticipation of success. I see this project as bearing the very real potential to entirely re-landscape the retail investor market’s view of the Venture Exchange. I expect that there will be a good number of companies who will not participate in this project, as they represent little more than a name and a piece of paper. In this, one of my major objectives for this project will have been achieved. Less work for the rest of us.
This is about Due Diligence. This is about taking great masses of information and filtering it with any number of parameters, enabling the end user to focus on those investment opportunities possessing a tightly defined set of attributes. It will not be perfect, I assure you… but it will be a lot better than what’s out there now. I’ve done this kind of work many times in another field. With strong participation by companies, this will work. I will be looking to you for support in garnering participation by a large number of companies. If they understand the value in this for you, perhaps they’ll see the value in it for themselves, too. Without company participation, I’m just blowing smoke.
Please take the opportunity to tell me what you think of this project as I’ve described it. Does it interest you or not? Suggestions? What would you most like to know about companies before you place them under the microscope for a closer look?
See the comment box below.
Cheers,
Kevin
P.S.: Did I forget to mention? Rare Element Resources has already test-driven the survey. Click here to see the report. Then come back and share your thoughts, please.
Enjoy.
